Interviews, explainers and coverage YouTube and X
Instantly, a cold email and lead generation tool, grew without outside funding by letting its users and affiliates do most of the talking. tutorials, reviews and comparisons from people who earn when someone signs up spread across YouTube, X, Reddit and blogs. Instantly did not use the Social Burning framework, but it is a useful B2B example of many voices posting about one product, and of the trade-offs when those voices are paid by commission.
How did Instantly grow without funding?
in a June 2023 interview, co-founder Raul Kaevand said Instantly reached $2.4M ARR and 2,900 customers within nine months, with no outside funding. the first customers came from the founders’ own agency clients. growth then came from an AppSumo launch, a Facebook group of about 6,000 members at the time, webinars, YouTube and X, using the team’s own results as proof.
What role do affiliates play?
a big one. Instantly’s affiliate program pays up to 40% recurring commission, aimed at creators, newsletters, communities and reviewers, plus a partner program for agencies. that gives hundreds of people a reason to publish tutorials and comparisons. it creates many voices fast, but every one of those posts must be disclosed as affiliate content under advertising rules.
What are the caveats?
the $2.4M figure is the founder’s own, and later figures ($38M ARR in 2026, and others) are estimates or unverified. we found no evidence of Instantly boosting affiliate posts with ads. affiliate-driven content is also different from accounts a company runs itself: the company doesn’t control the angles or keep the learning.
